hod-shey ha-sha-na ha-ye-hoo-dit The Jewish Months The Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar.
The Jewish years are counted from creation. There is a discrepancy of 11 days between the lunar and the solar year, to align the different calendars, a lunar month is added every two or three years, for a total of 7 times per 19 years.

Tishrei tish-rey תשרי
The first month of the Jewish year (30 days, Sep-Oct). Holidays and observant days: Tishrei 1-2, Rosh Hashanah - The Jewish New Year. Tishrei 10, Yom Kippur. Tishrei 15, Sukkot. Tishrei 22, Simchat Torah.
Cheshvan hesh-van חשון
The second month of the Jewish year (29 or 30 days, Oct-Nov).
Kislev kis-lev כסלו
The third month of the Jewish year (29 or 30 days, Nov-Dec). Holiday: Kislev 25, Hanukkah.
Tevet te-vet טבת
The fourth month of the Jewish year (29 days, Dec-Jan).
Shevat svat שבט
The fifth month of the Jewish year (30 days, Jan-Feb). Holiday: Shevat 15, Tu Bishvat.
Adar a-dar אדר
The sixth month of the Jewish year. Adar 1 (30 days, Feb-Mar). In a leap year an additional Adar month is added. Adar 2 (29 days Feb-Mar). Holiday: Adar 14, Purim.
Nisan ni-san ניסן
The seventh month of the Jewish year (30 days, Mar-Apr). Holidays and observant days: Nisan 15, Passover. Nisan 28, Holocaust day.
Iyar ee-yar אייר
The eigth month of the Jewish year (29 days, Apr-May). Holidays and observant days: Iyar 4, Remembrance day. Iyar 5, Independence day. Iyar 18, Lag Ba'omer.
Iyar 28, Jerusalem day.
Sivan si-van סיון
The ninth month of the Jewish year (30 days, May-Jun). Holiday: Sivan 6, Shavuot.
Tammuz ta-mooz תמוז
The tenth month of the Jewish year (29 days, Jun-Jul).
Av av אב
The eleventh month of the Jewish year (30 days, Jul-Aug). Observant day: Av 9, Tisha B'Av.
Elul e-lool אלול
The twelfth month of the Jewish year (29 days, Aug-Sep).
